Steve is an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and was listed in the Property Week Top 100 People in Property. He currently chairs Soho Estates which owns and curates a substantial part of London’s Soho, famous for its clubs, bars, restaurants, theatres and its own unique vibe. The company is currently developing a £350m GDV building on the site of the former Foyle’s bookshop in Charing Cross Road and has just completed the redevelopment of Walker’s Court including the new Boulevard theatre.
Steve also chairs This Land, Cambridgeshire’s arms-length property company which is charged with creating new homes and communities on land formerly owned by the County Council. The company intends to create value by offering homes which are designed for the people who will live in them in contrast to the standardised product which rolls off the production lines of the volume housebuilders.
Steve Norris Ltd also provides advice and support on complex planning applications particularly when the issues involved are not those directly linked to the planning system itself. By liaising at the appropriate level with members of local planning authorities and with government agencies such as Homes England, Highways England, Sport England, major utilities and similar bodies we smooth the path to consent.
Together with Craig Calder, Steve founded Sanctuary Investments which aims to develop residential sites principally in London.
